LocalSend is a cross-platform app that enables secure communication between devices using a REST API and HTTPS encryption. Unlike other messaging apps that rely on external servers, LocalSend doesn't require an internet connection or third-party servers, making it a fast and reliable solution for local communication.

Setup

In most cases, LocalSend should work out of the box. However, if you are having trouble sending or receiving files, you may need to configure your firewall to allow LocalSend to communicate over your local network.

On Linux, for example with ufw: sudo ufw allow 53317. With firewalld: sudo firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port=53317/tcp, sudo firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port=53317/udp, then sudo firewall-cmd --reload.

Also make sure to disable AP isolation on your router. It should be usually disabled by default but some routers may have it enabled (especially guest networks). See troubleshooting for more information.

Portable Mode

(Introduced in v1.13.0)

Create a file named settings.json located in the same directory as the executable. This file can be empty. The app will use this file to store settings instead of the default location.

Start hidden

(Updated in v1.15.0)

To start the app hidden (only in tray), use the --hidden flag (example: localsend_app.exe --hidden).

On v1.14.0 and earlier, the app starts hidden if autostart flag is set, and the hidden setting is enabled.

How It Works

LocalSend uses a secure communication protocol that allows devices to communicate with each other using a REST API. All data is sent securely over HTTPS, and the TLS/SSL certificate is generated on the fly on each device, ensuring maximum security.

Getting Started

To compile LocalSend from the source code, follow these steps:

Install Flutter directly or using fvm (see version required)
Install Rust
Clone the LocalSend repository
Run cd app to enter the app directory
Run flutter pub get to download dependencies
Run flutter run to start the app

Note

LocalSend currently requires an older Flutter version (specified in .fvmrc) and thus build issues may be caused by a mismatch between the required and the (system-wide) installed Flutter version.
To make development more consistent, LocalSend uses fvm to manage the project Flutter version. After installing fvm, run fvm flutter instead of flutter.

Command Line Interface

The LocalSend CLI is a terminal client built on LocalSend Protocol v2. Run localsend-cli --help to see every available option and hotkey.

Use the send command with one or more files, directories, or a mixture of both:

localsend-cli send report.pdf photo.jpg ./project-backup

The command opens the discovered-device list; select the destination interactively and press Enter to start the transfer.

To select the destination without an interactive device list, pass its exact alias or IP address:

localsend-cli send --to "Cute Tomato" report.pdf
localsend-cli send --to 192.168.27.26 report.pdf

An alias must uniquely identify a discovered device. An IP address is probed directly over HTTPS on LocalSend's default port (53317).

Directories are collected recursively. Their selected root names and nested paths are preserved on the receiver. Empty directories are not sent because LocalSend transfers file entries rather than directory entries.

Translation

You can help translate LocalSend into other languages. We use the Weblate platform to manage translations.

Alternatively, you can also contribute by forking this repository and adding translations manually.

The translations are located in the app/assets/i18n directory. Edit the _missing_translations_<locale>.json or strings_<locale>.i18n.json file to add or update translations.

Take note: Fields decorated with @ are not meant to be translated; they are not used in the app in any way, being merely informative text about the file or to give context to the translator.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

Bug Fixes: If you find a bug, please create a pull request with a clear description of the issue and how to fix it.
Improvements: Have an idea for how to improve LocalSend? Please create an issue first to discuss why the improvement is needed.

A: 本项目未插入任何广告。广告来自视频源, 请不要相信广告中的任何内容, 并尽量选择没有广告的视频源观看。

Q: 为什么我启用超分辨率功能后播放卡顿？

A: 超分辨率功能对 GPU 性能要求较高, 如果没有在高性能独立显卡上运行 Kazumi, 尽量选择效率档而非质量档。对低分辨率视频源而非高分辨率视频源使用超分也可以降低性能消耗。

Q: 为什么播放视频时内存占用较高？

A: 本程序在视频播放时, 会尽可能多地缓存视频到内存, 以提供较好的观看体验。如果您的内存较为紧张, 可以在播放设置选项卡启用低内存模式, 这将限制缓存。

Q: 为什么少数番剧无法通过外部播放器观看？

A: 部分视频源的番剧使用了反盗链措施, 这可以被 Kazumi 解决, 但无法被外部播放器解决。

Q: 为什么下载的 Linux 版本缺少图标和托盘功能？

A: 使用 .deb 版本进行安装, tar.gz 版本仅为方便二次打包, 这一格式先天缺乏图标和托盘功能支持。

Sandbox, playback, and folder access

Not on Flathub — the remote supplies the Freedesktop runtime only.
Video playback needs a Wayland session; a pure X11 session shows the interface but cannot create the video plane.
No host or home filesystem access; app data lives in ~/.var/app/com.edde746.plezy/. Add host folders through the desktop file chooser portal, and keep download folders writable.
Network, display, audio, and device access are enabled. --device=all (Flatpak 1.14 compatibility) exposes more than GPUs and controllers; session-bus access stays filtered.

Packaging a Flatpak bundle

Packages an already fully resolved Linux release bundle — pinned libmpv and bundled libraries included, not a Flathub source-build manifest. Run it on Linux, on the same architecture as the bundle, after following the bundle preparation steps in the Linux release workflow: flutter build linux alone does not produce all the required bundled libraries.

Install the packaging tools (Debian/Ubuntu shown) plus the native-architecture SDK and runtime:

That writes plezy-linux-x64.flatpak, installable with the Flatpak commands above; on arm64, use the prepared arm64 bundle directory and --arch arm64. Package from the checkout matching the bundle, since the version comes from pubspec.yaml.

Cross-architecture packaging needs native Flatpak tools, a registered binfmt interpreter, and the target SDK/runtime installed with flatpak install --user --arch=x86_64 (or aarch64) — never run Flatpak's namespace tools under emulation. Pass --arch x64 or --arch arm64 to the checker and the matching Flatpak architecture to flatpak run --arch=....

Check the installed package against the runtime (not just the SDK), then launch it on a Wayland desktop and exercise streaming, audio, downloads/offline playback, and file chooser portals:

The check fails on a non-executable entry point or an unresolved bundled ELF dependency. A container without a GPU can use flatpak run --env=GALLIUM_DRIVER=softpipe com.edde746.plezy for software-rendered verification; this is not a hardware-decoding or HDR test.

Before running or building the app, update the dependencies for the desired flavor:

Saber

Saber is the notes app built for handwriting.

It's designed to be as simple and intuitive as possible, while still delivering unique features that you'll actually use. Additionally, Saber is available across all your devices, large and small, and syncs between them seamlessly.

Notably, it can invert your notes when you're in dark mode. This allows you to write with white ink on a black background, which is much easier on the eyes in low-light environments like when the teacher turns off the lights in class. Images and PDFs are also inverted, so you can still use a digital printout or a textbook without the fuss.

Saber uses a dual-password system to protect your notes from anyone but you, even if they have complete control over the server. You can safely store your notes on the official Saber server, another server, or even host your own!

The app is completely open-source so that anyone can view the source code and see exactly what it's doing and how it handles your data. Many other note-taking apps are closed-source and proprietary, meaning that their inner workings are a mystery to the public.

As someone who studies maths, highlighting multi-line equations was always a hassle with other apps, where the highlighter would change color when it overlapped with itself. Another problem I had was that in some apps, the highlighter would render on top of the text, fading it out and making it hard to read. Saber's highlighter has no such issues. It utilizes canvas compositing to render the highlighter in a way that is consistent with/better than traditional paper, where it handles overlaps and maintains color consistency.

Saber has everything you need to keep your notes organized. Create folders inside folders inside folders to your heart's content with no limit on the number of nested folders. And even though a note may be buried deep within a nested folder, you can still access it easily with your most recent notes always available on the home screen.

Configuration and Mobile Device Management (MDM)

FluffyChat supports configuration via MDM on Android&iOS (since v2.10.0) and via a config.json file on web. You can see the populated configuration for MDM on Android in this file under /android/app/src/main/res/xml/app_restrictions.xml. How to build

To build FluffyChat you need Flutter and Rust

「主题色 + 皮肤 = 顶部头图」。皮肤分代码皮肤(CustomPainter 画渐变 / 几何,跟随主题色)和图片皮肤(SVG,BoxFit.cover 铺满头部,可整幅染成主题色)两类。

最简单的方式:照着 example_skin.svg 画一张 SVG → 丢进 assets/header_skins/ → 在 lib/styles/header_skins.dart 注册一条 → 加 i18n 名跑 flutter gen-l10n。

拥有的 Hot Reload 热重载，可以极大缩减 debug 成本，所见即所得，快速交流；

利用 PlatformChannel，可以为不同平台编写不同的平台特性的独有功能；
